#82 - The Left-Right Dichotomy of Pain and Neurology

Podcast cover

The KRUSE ELITE Podcast

Asymmetries in the human body and nervous system often manifest as one-sided pain, movement dysfunction, or stability issues. Rather than viewing perfect symmetry as the ultimate goal, practitioners can utilize these inherent imbalances to identify underperforming neural pathways. By testing sensory inputs—such as vibration, peripheral vision, and smell—alongside motor coordination, coaches can determine whether a specific side of the cortex or brainstem requires targeted activation. For instance, a right-sided PMRF pattern or left-sided cerebellar deficit suggests specific neural pathways are not firing optimally. Applying targeted drills, such as ipsilateral eye movements or specific sensory stimulation, helps restore functional balance, reduces pain, and improves overall performance. This approach moves beyond treating local muscle issues, instead addressing the higher-order neurological systems that dictate muscle tone and movement patterns across the entire body.
