Everybody built an agent. Then the quarter closed, the token bill landed, and nobody could point at what it actually produced. Anish Chadalavada thinks that moment is the end of phase one — and that what comes next looks nothing like the last twelve months.

Anish is co-founder and Chief Growth Officer at Gradial, the enterprise AI harness that runs marketing work across the tools a company already owns. Before Gradial he invested in early-stage AI companies at Point72 Ventures and shaped AI strategy at Microsoft. Since then he's taken Gradial through back-to-back rounds — most recently a $65M Series C led by Insight Partners — while landing AWS, T-Mobile, Prudential and Vanguard, one of whom cut campaign execution time by 80 to 90%.

In this conversation with LeanScale co-founder Anthony Enrico, Anish makes the case that the marketing SaaS stack won't survive the shift to agents — but not in the way the 'SaaSpocalypse' crowd means it. Systems that hold real context become infrastructure. Tools that exist only to make other tools easier for a human to use have no reason to exist, because software is about to be used mostly by agents. They get into governance, multiplayer architecture, model lock-in, what happens to entry-level GTM jobs, and a genuinely contrarian prediction about where all of this lands.

ABOUT THE GUEST

Anish Chadalavada is co-founder and Chief Growth Officer at Gradial, the enterprise AI harness that connects frontier models to the brand context, approvals and tools a large marketing organization already runs on. A Dartmouth graduate based in Seattle, Anish spent his career on the other side of the table before building: investing in early-stage AI companies at Point72 Ventures through the ChatGPT inflection, and shaping AI strategy at Microsoft, where he worked with GitHub leadership on intelligent developer tooling and on the Nuance acquisition. Gradial has raised more than $110M in sixteen months, including a $65M Series C led by Insight Partners, and counts AWS, T-Mobile, Prudential, Vanguard, Kaiser Permanente and US Bank among its enterprise customers.
