Traditional product roadmaps are becoming obsolete as AI-driven execution removes engineering constraints, shifting the primary bottleneck from building capacity to strategic conviction. This abundance of output creates dangerous pitfalls, including the backlog trap, where every idea is built regardless of value; the parity trap, where companies blindly copy competitors; and the churn trap, which sacrifices long-term learning for rapid, meaningless iteration. Instead of rigid feature lists, product leaders should adopt "Roadmap Zero," prioritizing durable, high-level convictions and ambitious, testable hypotheses. Success now depends on the ability to discard failed experiments quickly while maintaining a high bar for customer trust. By focusing on "good stubbornness"—staying true to a problem while iterating on solutions—teams can leverage AI to achieve meaningful, commercializable impact rather than merely accelerating the path to mediocrity.
