5月30日，世界首富马斯克终于离开了美国特朗普政府。

马斯克是特朗普亲密战友以及最大的金主。他在去年的美国总统大选中投入了至少2.5亿美元，来协助特朗普和其他的共和党议员当选。

在特朗普上任后，马斯克以总统顾问的身份率领新成立的政府效率部，在四个月内火速解聘了20万名联邦政府雇员，也关闭了美国进行国际援助的美国国际开发署。

马斯克声称为美国政府节省了1750亿美元，但是这远远少于他最初夸口要节省两万亿美元的目标。

马斯克本人的生意也大受影响。特斯拉的收入大跌71%，马斯克的个人身价也缩水了1000亿美元。
