On a special Episode 34 of the Daebak K-Rambles Podcast, Jess is joined by the ladies from the Seoul Sistahs Podcast to review Alchemy of Souls Parts 1 and 2, a journey almost as long as the drama itself.

In the part 1 non-spoiler section of the review, Jess, Nas, and Ori have a robust discussion, talking through what they generally liked and disliked about the show, the stunning cinematography and world building, a brief history of Hong Sisters dramas, a rundown of other fantasy K-dramas, how AoS is obviously derivative of fantasy C-dramas, the astronomical budget for AoS, the toxic fandom online, and more!

Fantasy K-dramas mentioned in the episode:

Gumihos: Roommate Is a Gumiho, Girlfriend Is a Gumiho, Gu Family Book, Tale of the Nine-Tailed
Ghosts: Hotel del Luna, The Master’s Sun, Oh My Ghostess, Ghost Doctor
