World models represent a paradigm shift in generative AI, moving from passive, static file creation to continuous, real-time, and interactive video generation. Unlike traditional models that produce fixed-length clips, these systems function regressively, maintaining state and context to enable infinite-length, user-responsive experiences. Alberto Taiuti, founder of Reactor, highlights that this technology necessitates a new developer platform approach, shifting the focus from simple prompt engineering to session-based, code-driven integration. This evolution promises to transform media by enabling hyper-personalized content—such as dynamic, real-time advertisements or interactive character cameos—and eventually allowing for the generation of entire software applications pixel-by-pixel on the fly. By treating video as a foundational 3D-aware medium, these models bypass the limitations of sparse 3D mesh data, offering a scalable, additive layer to existing digital experiences.
