In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson examine allegations involving Abdul El-Sayed, review public reporting and statements cited as evidence of connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, discuss the structure and authority of the Senate Intelligence Committee, critique NBC’s Meet the Press interview with El-Sayed, and debate the national security implications they believe could result from his election to the U.S. Senate.

Michigan’s Senate race takes center stage as Senator Ted Cruz argues that a potential victory by Abdul El-Sayed would raise serious questions about access to classified intelligence and national security oversight. Cruz and Ben Ferguson examine El-Sayed’s public statements, past writings, family connections, campaign supporters, and media coverage surrounding allegations of ties to organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. The conversation also explores a little-known aspect of the U.S. Senate: elected senators do not undergo a traditional security clearance process, and committee assignments can provide access to highly sensitive intelligence information. Cruz explains how Senate leadership determines key committee placements and why he believes those decisions matter in this race.
