# Kristian Harloff Show — LANTERNS Is A HIT?! Huge HBO Debut + Marvel & God of War News!

**Lanterns** is off to a huge start for HBO and DC Studios! The new DCU series starring **Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan** and **Aaron Pierre as John Stewart** reportedly pulled in **9.3 million viewers during its opening days**, giving James Gunn's DC Universe another major talking point.

On today's **Kristian Harloff Show**, we break down the Lanterns debut and what these numbers could mean for the future of **Green Lantern**, HBO, and the larger **DCU**.

Plus, **Charles Melton** has landed a major role in the live-action **Naruto** movie, potentially explaining the recent reports surrounding his status with Marvel Studios' **X-Men** reboot. Could this be why Melton may no longer be playing **Beast** in the MCU?

**Masters of the Universe** is also finding new life on streaming after reportedly topping the Nielsen charts. Could the strong streaming performance be enough to revive sequel conversations?

We also have a major update for **God of War**, as **Dave Bautista** is set to take over the role of **Kratos**, replacing Ryan Hurst in the upcoming live-action series. Is Bautista the right choice to bring one of gaming's most iconic characters to television?

Finally, Marvel is officially beginning the road to **Avengers: Doomsday** with a new **Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday** podcast featuring **Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani** as anticipation continues to build for Marvel Studios' massive event film.
