Is James Gunn's DC Universe facing another box office problem? New reports suggest Clayface is struggling with advance ticket sales, with pre-sales reportedly the lowest of any DCU movie so far and early projections pointing toward an opening weekend below $20 million.

On today's Kristian Harloff Show, we're breaking down the latest Clayface box office tracking, what the disappointing early ticket sales could mean for DC Studios, and whether James Gunn and Peter Safran should be concerned about the future of their cinematic universe.

With Clayface arriving in theaters October 23, the R-rated DC horror movie has a reported production budget of approximately $40 million, making it considerably less expensive than traditional superhero blockbusters. But even with a smaller budget, could weak opening-weekend numbers put pressure on DC Studios?

We're discussing whether Clayface can overcome its slow pre-sales, how important positive reviews and word of mouth will be, and whether the movie's horror approach could attract audiences closer to Halloween.

More importantly, does Clayface need to perform like Superman or Supergirl to be considered successful, or should DC Studios be judging its smaller, genre-driven projects by an entirely different standard?
