While institutional fundraising remains robust, retail vehicles often restrict redemptions, trapping capital in assets with opaque, internally determined valuations. Publicly traded Business Development Companies (BDCs) offer a more transparent alternative, frequently trading at substantial discounts to their Net Asset Value (NAV) compared to the par-value transactions of private funds.
