UPDATE: Blog version here https://theneuron.ai/explainer-articles/github-for-beginners-how-to-use-it-with-ai-coding-agents/

GitHub can feel intimidating if you didn’t come up as a developer, especially now that AI coding agents can build software before you’ve learned what a repo, branch, or pull request even is.

That’s why The Neuron is going LIVE with Cassidy Williams from GitHub for a beginner-friendly walkthrough of how GitHub actually works.

📅 Thursday, September 10

⏰ 12 PM CT / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET

What we’ll cover:

- What GitHub is and why you’d use it

- How to create an account and navigate GitHub

- Repos, pushing, pulling, merging, cloning, and forking

- How to connect AI coding agents to GitHub

- How to safely push and merge code

- How to work on multiple features using worktrees

- Best practices for keeping projects private and organized

- GitHub Actions, key management, deployment, and more

The goal:

Take you from “AI built me an app, now what?” to actually understanding how to manage, collaborate on, and safely ship your code with GitHub.

Cassidy will lead the walkthrough, while The Neuron’s Grant Harvey and Corey Noles jump in with beginner questions and audience Q&A throughout.
