Despite its prevalence—affecting roughly 40% of Americans—advancements in early detection and precision oncology have significantly improved survival rates, with many cancers now reaching five-year survival milestones exceeding 90%. Treatment protocols have evolved from blunt surgical and chemical interventions to sophisticated methods like immunotherapy and CAR T-cell therapy, which train the immune system to target malignant cells. Although global diagnoses are projected to rise, ongoing research into personalized medicine and AI-assisted diagnostics offers a hopeful trajectory for managing and potentially curing these complex conditions.
