Why China Isn’t Panicking About AI Armageddon

The global AI arms race between the United States and China remains deadlocked as both nations prioritize technological dominance over international cooperation. While U.S. officials and tech leaders express existential concerns about AI, China views these warnings as a Western strategy to stifle its development, focusing instead on internal social stability and state control. The U.S. government, driven by the Trump administration, maintains that staying ahead in AI is essential for national security and economic growth, leading to a reluctance to implement restrictive regulations that might hamper domestic innovation.
