Using "she" or "he" for items like laptops or bread reflects a shift toward personification based on aesthetics or performance. Phrases like "eating," "serving," and "go off" have transitioned from their traditional meanings—such as losing one's temper or consuming food—into high-praise compliments regarding someone's appearance or achievements. While these terms foster connection among younger generations, they remain highly specific to Gen Z culture. Adopting this vocabulary outside of that demographic often feels unnatural or performative, as the slang is primarily rooted in online interactions and peer-to-peer social dynamics. Understanding these nuances helps bridge generational communication gaps, even if the terms themselves are best left to the teenagers who popularized them.
