Andrew Ng, a pioneer in machine learning and co-founder of Google Brain and Coursera, notes that the "job apocalypse" narrative is unfounded, as software engineering and other fields show increased demand for professionals who leverage AI. Furthermore, current LLMs are often detrimental to deep learning because they encourage cognitive offloading. To thrive, individuals must move beyond passive consumption, cultivate high agency, and build practical workflows that integrate AI, as the true competitive advantage lies in human judgment and contextual understanding rather than mere information retrieval.
