David Sinclair, head of the International Longevity Centre, argues that the focus must shift from radical life extension to immediate policy reform. Key priorities include prioritizing preventative health interventions over acute care, designing walkable, age-friendly communities, and encouraging the financial decumulation of wealth held by older generations to stimulate economic demand. Beyond infrastructure, society must redefine the purpose of later life, moving away from passive retirement toward models of intergenerational collaboration and lifelong learning. Ultimately, longevity is a present-day demographic reality that demands urgent, bold leadership to ensure that longer lives are both healthy and meaningful rather than defined by isolation and inactivity.
