In this episode, Sathya sits down with Noah Filipiak to explore pornography addiction, childhood emotional needs, marriage, entitlement, and the path to genuine freedom. Noah shares how his struggle with pornography began in middle school but was rooted in deeper emotional needs formed during childhood. Despite being deeply involved in Christian ministry, the addiction continued through his youth and college years until he recognized that freedom required vulnerability, accountability, and community. Noah also discusses how purity expectations within Christian culture contributed to entitlement and resentment in his early marriage, eventually leading to relapse and damaging both his marriage and relationship with God. He explains how faulty theology shaped his belief that righteousness should result in a “sexual payoff,” and how God challenged that mindset by showing him that he didn’t need what he believed he deserved, but instead needed to receive His mercy and grace. That shift from entitlement to gratitude transformed Noah’s marriage and relationship with God and ultimately shaped his mission to help other men find freedom from pornography.
