A coaching certification can give you information, frameworks, and techniques—but that doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to use them well.

In this episode of Spirit Sherpa, Kelle Sparta talks with certified coach Barbara about what was missing from Barbara’s original coach training and what practitioners actually need in order to work with clients responsibly and effectively.

They explore the gap between learning concepts and embodying them, why supervised practice matters, how personal healing affects your ability to hold a transformational container, and why coaches need more than theory if they’re going to help clients through real change.

The conversation also expands into practitioner training, curriculum design, skill layering, ethical program development, confidentiality, case consultation, and the importance of knowing what to do when you don’t have an immediate answer.

For coaches, healers, facilitators, spiritual practitioners, and anyone designing a transformational training program, this episode offers a grounded look at what professional development should actually include.
