Liberal education in the United States currently suffers from a profound state of disrepair, having been largely supplanted by political indoctrination. Universities increasingly prioritize ideological conformity over the Socratic pursuit of truth, a shift driven by faculty who view their role as political activists rather than educators. This transformation, rooted in the postmodern rejection of objective standards, has created an environment where dissent is stifled and historical narratives are weaponized to frame the United States and Israel as inherently oppressive. The October 7th massacre served as a critical hinge point, exposing the institutionalized bias within academia where traditional protections for minority groups are selectively denied to Jewish students. Reclaiming the university requires a multi-front strategy, including the promotion of intellectual diversity, the strengthening of civic thought programs, and the establishment of new, independent academic institutions dedicated to genuine liberal inquiry.
