AI agents have significantly improved in reliability, reducing error rates from 30% to 2% and enabling the rapid formalization of complex logic into computer code via Lean. A notable example of this acceleration is the formalization of the Feit-Thompson theorem; while the original human-led effort required six years and fifteen people, modern AI-assisted agents can now achieve similar results in as little as one to eight weeks. This evolution is further evidenced by the increasing success rate of AI in solving Erdős problems and the development of automated systems to validate and digest machine-generated proofs.
