Kevin Day - SCU 2004 Nimitz Strike Group Case Interview

Podcast cover

Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies

On November 14, 2004, the USS Princeton, serving as the air defense commander for the Nimitz strike group off the coast of San Diego, encountered multiple anomalous aerial vehicles (AAVs). Kevin Day, an Operations Specialist Senior Chief, reports that these objects displayed impossible flight characteristics, including rapid descents from 80,000 feet to sea level in under a second without generating sonic booms. Despite tracking these targets on the SPY-1 radar and confirming their presence through visual reports from fighter pilots, the objects remained unidentified. Day notes that the strike group’s communications regarding the incident were mysteriously erased from ship records the following day. These objects, which appeared in groups of up to 14, maintained high-quality radar tracks and exhibited advanced maneuvering capabilities that defied conventional explanation, leading to significant questions regarding their origin and the nature of the encounter.
