Databricks is shifting the enterprise AI paradigm from simple model consumption to autonomous agentic systems that leverage proprietary organizational context. By integrating enterprise data directly into the AI stack, organizations can move beyond "token maxing" toward "value maxing," using intelligent routing and stateful policies to optimize performance and cost. Key innovations include Omnigent, a meta-harness for agent interoperability; Unity AI Gateway, which provides centralized governance and cost control; and Genie, a natural language interface for data and machine learning operations. These tools enable automated machine learning maintenance via ZeroOps and hyper-personalized marketing through the new agentic Customer Lake platform. By embedding governance and security directly into the data layer, enterprises can safely deploy autonomous agents to handle complex tasks—from security threat hunting to supply chain management—while maintaining human oversight and operational control.
