Making the Argument with Nick Freitas

Effective conservative political engagement requires distinct strategies depending on whether one resides in a deep blue or deep red state. In blue states, conservatives should operate as insurgents, focusing resources on strategic, winnable races while prioritizing educational alternatives like homeschooling and private co-ops to bypass hostile public school curricula. Building strong, values-based communities through churches and local businesses creates a foundation worth defending. Conversely, in red states, the primary challenge is avoiding complacency. Residents must aggressively primary weak, establishment-aligned Republicans who prioritize budget amendments over cultural battles. Utilizing state power to explicitly signal values—such as declaring nuclear family months—helps define the state's identity and discourages ideological migration. Ultimately, success stems from cultivating a joyful, productive life within the family and community, which serves as a more compelling argument for conservative principles than constant political agitation.
