Institutional expertise, despite its vulnerabilities to political capture and error, remains the most reliable mechanism for error correction in a complex society. Ultimately, cultivating the ability to remain undistracted and to engage in rigorous, evidence-based processes is necessary to navigate an increasingly automated world while maintaining genuine contact with reality.
