While bad behavior is indiscriminate, domestic abuse is an ongoing, targeted pattern of control, manipulation, and demeaning conduct. Statistics reveal that domestic violence affects one in four women, with battering serving as the leading cause of injury to women in the United States. Men must move beyond the misconception that they are superior or entitled to submission, instead adopting the model of Christ, who serves his bride. True leadership involves accountability among brothers, recognizing the cycle of tension and violence, and prioritizing the emotional and physical well-being of wives. By esteeming others as better than themselves, men can prevent abuse and foster healthier, biblically-aligned marriages.
