Ironworks | A Word of Warning

Athey Creek Ironworks | Audio Podcast

Human pride often manifests as a boastful reliance on personal wisdom, physical strength, or material wealth, yet these attributes are inherently fragile and temporary. Jeremiah 9:23-24 provides a corrective, urging men to reject self-conceit and instead find their ultimate glory in an intimate, relational knowledge of God. This "yada"—a deep, personal intimacy—surpasses mere intellectual assent or outward religious performance. Historical examples, from the fallibility of renowned experts to the tragic decline of Samson, demonstrate that relying on human capability leads to inevitable failure. True strength and wisdom are found only through humility and a commitment to God’s loving-kindness, justice, and righteousness. By shifting the focus from self-promotion to a personal walk with the Creator, men can avoid the pitfalls of pride and align their lives with divine truth.
