“Get up on the wrong side of the bed” 可不是 “从床的错误一侧起床” 的意思！

不少小伙伴看到 “get up on the wrong side of the bed” 这个表达可能会困惑，

“get up” 是起床，“on the wrong side” 是在错误的一侧，“bed” 是床，

字面直译好像是 “从床的错误一侧起床”。

但实际它是个描述情绪状态的地道口语表达！

先来听一下它的英文解释：

If you got up on the wrong side of the bed, it means you started the day in a bad way.

如果你起床后心情就不好，那意思就是说接下来的一天都会由不好的事情开始。

So if you're having a bad day and you feel like it's because you just didn't have a good start to your day, you could say, " I got up on the wrong side of the bed."

所以如果你今天过得很糟糕并且你觉得那是因为你只是没有一个好的开始，你可以说，“我有起床气。”

在英语中，当有人说自己或他人 “从床的错误一侧起床” 时，

意思是那个人从一天开始就心情不好、易怒，或者容易烦躁，而且没有明显的原因。

这个短语的起源与旧时的迷信习俗相关，

最早可追溯到古罗马时期，当时人们普遍认为，左侧是 “不吉利的方位”（evil side），

如果早上从床的左侧起床，会给一整天带来坏运气，进而导致心情烦躁。

这种迷信观念在中世纪欧洲继续流传，逐渐演变成描述 “起床后状态不佳” 的口语表达，

17 世纪后开始在英语中广泛使用，

至今仍是日常交流中形容 “起床气” 或 “莫名烦躁” 的常用短语。
