Is There a Bloodline Connection - These words were spoken by former president George W. Bush at the African American Museum 13 years after he signed a bill to build it. Yet, some of the country's most powerful politicians today are descendants of slaveholders, and they will not acknowledge slavery’s lasting impact on the descendants of those their ancestors once enslaved. Research now shows that a large percentage of the same families with slave-holding ties are members are the ones who get elected to office. In this 17th session in the series, time for the nations to reap, we will look at the large percentage of the same families with slaveholding ties serving in an elected position. Is there a bloodline connection?
