It is difficult to achieve a state of calm due to the autonomic nature of the nervous system and the cumulative effect of stress. However, there are various technologies and substances, from wearable devices to psilocybin and CBD, that may be utilized to hack the nervous system and promote vagal nerve tone, signaling safety to the brain and encouraging a parasympathetic state.
Given that we don’t have a central pump, muscle movement, breathing, and relaxation are all important for promoting lymph flow. If we fail to do so, due to the relationship between the parasympathetic nervous system and lymphatic function, we can inhibit drainage.
