Our first interview with Adrian was probably in 2020 or 2021 at a conference, so it was a pleasure to catch up with him again.

Adrian, who has been in the trenches of crypto development since 2016, gives us some deep insights into intent-based systems, how they compare to traditional transaction models, and why privacy is more essential than ever.

We have been learning about intents for some time already, but this podcast further strengthened our thesis that intents are here to stay and will likely become the de facto way people interact onchain.

In this piece, we explore how Anoma’s architecture is addressing major challenges like privacy and the inefficiencies of global consensus. What stands out is the shift from transaction execution to defining intents, giving users more control over how and when their state transitions are settled.
