The Disability Determination Services (DDS) is temporarily halting most Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs) in order to concentrate on processing initial disability claims and reconsiderations. This decision comes in response to a significant backlog in these initial and reconsideration claims. By prioritizing these cases, DDS aims to clear the backlog and return to normal CDR processing levels by the end of the fiscal year, September 30th.
