Stripe is positioning its financial infrastructure as the backbone of the "agentic era," where autonomous AI agents act as primary economic participants. Central to this shift is the Agentic Commerce Suite, which includes Stripe Projects for programmatic service provisioning and the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) to facilitate direct machine-to-machine transactions. The newly launched Link Wallet for Agents allows these entities to spend securely using payment credentials without human intervention for every step. To support high-frequency AI transactions, Stripe integrated Metronome for real-time token-based billing and launched Tempo, a blockchain-based payment rail for streaming stablecoins. Additionally, the expansion of Stripe Treasury introduces multi-currency accounts supporting fiat and stablecoins side-by-side, while Radar now provides AI-driven fraud protection across all Stripe payment volumes. These updates, including partnerships with Google Gemini and Meta, aim to streamline global commerce for both human users and autonomous digital actors.
