On this episode, we discuss the management of dyslipidemia. We start by reviewing some basic pathophysiology. Then, we discuss the evidence-based medications utilized for controlling patients' lipid panels as well as the long-term prevention of cardiovascular events. We also breakdown the 2018 lipid guidelines from the American Heart Association, and contrast them with the 2020 American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists/American College of Endocrinology's lipid guidelines.
