Ornn is developing a financial exchange for GPU compute as a standardized commodity, similar to a futures market. Wayne Nelms, CTO of Ornn, explains the company's mission to standardize and financialize compute, addressing the challenge of categorizing risk and determining the value of compute in the Neo cloud industry. Ornn allows data centers, COGO operators, NeoClouds, labs, universities, and hospitals to hedge operating expenses by taking positions on compute prices. The platform offers futures contracts that enable users to cap their costs or set a floor for their revenue, similar to hedging in other commodity spaces like oil and gas. Ornn also offers memory features, allowing users to trade DRAM, DDR5, DDR4, and SRAM products.
