Jack Recider hosts Darknet Diaries, which features true stories from the dark side of the Internet. This episode tells the story of Maxie Reynolds, who grew up in Scotland and had an itch for adventure. She got a degree in underwater robotics, but struggled to find a job due to being a woman. She eventually got a job with a Norwegian company, which required her to travel a lot. She then became fascinated with IT and got a degree in computer science. She then took a month off work and landed in Los Angeles, California, just to take a break for a while, but fell in love with LA and became a stuntwoman. Later, she got a job for a cybersecurity company in Australia and became a penetration tester. She recounts her experiences in physical and network penetration testing, including an incident where she accidentally shut off a city's water supply, and a later red team contract where she stole a bunch of trucks. Maxie then discusses her current work building modular underwater data centers, and her book, "The Art of Attack: Attacker Mindset for Security Professionals."
