Shelby Stanger interviews Barrington Scott on the Wild Ideas Worth Living podcast. Barrington discusses his journey from growing up in the Bronx and South Carolina to joining the Marines, where he learned to swim. A cruise to the Bahamas introduced him to scuba diving, which later became therapeutic as he dealt with PTSD and depression. He sold his possessions to embark on a gap year in Southeast Asia, earning advanced scuba certification. Inspired by Diana Nyad, he set a Guinness World Record for scuba diving on all seven continents in record time, highlighting memorable dives in places like Raja Ampat, a Miami underwater cemetery, and Antarctica. Currently in Thailand, he plans to become a physician's assistant and work with Doctors Without Borders.
