He spent his first 10 years with The Pillsbury (now part of General Mills) in various sales, management & category development roles. From there, he was recruited by Johnson & Johnson to lead the category management initiative for their Acuvue contact lens brand at Walmart, Costco, and other mega-retailers. He closed his corporate career with another 10 years  at the HJ Heinz Company (now KraftHeinz) in HQ sales management, international business development for emerging markets, global systems implementation, and most recently serving as their Global Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer.

He has made the shift into the multi-family real estate space and is working on investment deals throughout key markets nationwide. Utilizing a vast network of professionals, he and his GDC managing partner are experiencing the exciting realm of CRE investing.

In his spare time, he serves on the Board of Directors for the award-winning History Center in Orlando, Florida (after chairing as Board President for 3 terms); serves on the Board of Directors for one of the largest fraternities in North America, Lambda Chi Alpha; and volunteers in senior leadership with the American Legion Boys State premier youth leadership programs (Florida, California, Arkansas & Boys Nation).

“So in the market the way it is right now, we're not as siloed and focused on a narrow buy box like we used to or that like some people are. We really like, hey, we're taking on a deal by deal basis. And often if we have friends within the business or colleagues that we really like that need some assistance, like closing their deal with some capital and investors, we know it'll come back. This business is huge”.

“And so I'm going to have a conversation. We're having conversations with the owner of the land of the A property because he definitely would want to invest in that because it'll increase the value of his property and really get rid of some of the security issues or the challenges that he's having of being next to a worrisome area. It's really thinking outside the box for this particular portfolio. It's not something we're rushing into.. There's definitely bigger conversations we're going to have for something. That's 1973 apartment complex portfolio, that's a big deal. I don't want to run into the challenge of the guy in Houston whose property portfolios got taken back by the bank. That's definitely not where I want to be and that's definitely not the legacy that Chad and I want to leave.”

“Oh, absolutely. You've got the pillars of what makes up great placement of capital. You've got your man who knows what asset management is, knows how to turn around great and really we're in value add. So turning around a complex to increase value is exactly that. It's turning around businesses and then your underwriting is key fundamental to even sending out the loi and getting under a contract because you know that by the numbers it's going to be successful.”
