Research on Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies shows that many established firms are not only surviving but thriving in the digital landscape. These companies use a variety of strategies, such as competing directly with challengers, leveraging their existing strengths, consolidating their positions, and moving away from shrinking markets. The choice of strategy varies based on individual circumstances and often involves some trial and error before settling on a primary approach. While disruption does happen, it’s not as widespread as commonly believed; in fact, most disruption tends to affect smaller and mid-sized businesses much more than the largest corporations.
