Asia's power consumption is surging, reaching 1.5 to 2 times the levels seen before COVID-19 in some regions, largely due to the rise of data centers and the trend of reshoring. While energy prices are climbing and many areas are turning back to traditional energy sources to satisfy demand, the cost of clean energy—such as solar, wind, and storage—has dropped significantly, especially in South Asia. This decline in costs, driven by increased capacity, is creating a more favorable landscape for clean energy generation, even as ambitious climate targets aim for a 59-67% reduction in emissions by 2035.
