Martin Kopelman, co-founder and CEO of Gnosis, suggests that Ethereum should implement 128 native zero-knowledge (ZK) layer-2 solutions to enhance scalability and interoperability. His proposal tackles the current challenges posed by loosely connected rollups by establishing foundational rollups that are developed and maintained by the Ethereum community, which ensures greater security and trust. This strategy aims to create a more cohesive Ethereum ecosystem, boosting composability and liquidity while reducing fragmentation and the risks linked to independently developed rollups. Although the proposal has received mixed reactions, Kopelman believes it is essential for Ethereum's future as a platform focused on developers.
