In this episode of the SaaS Podcast, we hear from Palash Soni, co-founder and CEO of Goldcast, a video campaign platform tailored for B2B marketers. Goldcast started out focusing on virtual events but struggled to gain traction due to a clunky user interface. After revamping their UI, they landed Drift as a client, which significantly boosted their growth. However, they faced challenges with customer retention, prompting a shift to a more comprehensive video content platform, despite some internal resistance. This bold decision paid off, leading to over $10 million in annual recurring revenue and $30 million in funding. Their most successful marketing tactic turned out to be hosting their own events, which not only generated valuable content but also fostered a strong community. Initially, they thought they had overinvested in customer support, but they soon realized that this high-touch approach was key to driving word-of-mouth referrals.
