He hails from a lineage deeply connected to real estate, with his father being a prominent real estate investor and developer in Arizona's multifamily market. From a young age, Derek absorbed the foundational knowledge that would ultimately shape his own thriving career.

What sets Derek apart is his remarkable ability to assess and analyze investment opportunities, particularly in Denver's rapidly evolving real estate market. His skills were so exceptional that they lured his retired father back into the industry. Together, they've masterfully navigated multiple developments and successful fix-and-flip projects.

Derek's educational journey includes earning a bachelor's degree in business management from Metro State University and completing training at the Graduate Realtor Institute. His dedication to his profession extended to a six-year tenure on the board of the South Metro Denver Real Estate Association (SMDRA).

With nearly two decades of experience under his belt, Derek has become a trusted and highly respected figure in South-East Denver, serving communities such as Parker, Franktown, Castle Rock, and Lonetree. He embarked on his real estate career in 2004, initially focusing on new home sales and marketing for local custom home builders. However, his path eventually led him to the world of resale residential real estate.

Derek's professional journey took an interesting detour when he explored the commercial real estate sector between 2006 and 2008. Specializing in land and multifamily properties, he gained valuable insights, but his passion for the personal touch of residential sales soon drew him back. Impressively, by the age of 30, Derek joined Denver's top 1% of realtors, a position he continues to hold today.

In this episode, we'll also dive into Derek's distinctive approach to real estate, characterized by his aggressive negotiation tactics and commitment to providing a white-glove concierge service. His primary focus lies in single-family luxury and ranch property transactions, with a substantial portion of his business stemming from the glowing recommendations and referrals of satisfied clients.
