Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People is worthwhile because:

It became so popular in 1936 and afterwards that much of elite Western culture is downstream of it.
1. So if you try using it adversarially (even accidentally e.g. you notice and instrumentally converge on tactics similar to these), the risk is high that they will see it coming from a mile away.
The advice is good and makes you stronger. No reason to be below the baseline.

It's important to note that not all advice applies in all contexts; criticism is encouraged while on Lesswrong, since here we know that the human brain sort of just forms strong beliefs in random directions, and that you should do something about it whenever you see it.
